I first developed my interest in martial arts at the age of 12. Like a lot of kids at that time it was sparked by the moves done by famous movie stars at the time. I said to myself “I want to learn how to do that”. So I enrolled in Taekwondo. My thirst for martial arts grew. I eventually obtained belts in several styles. I currently hold a 1st degree black belt in Taekwondo, blue belt in Aikido. I also had a very short time in Karate in which I earned a yellow belt. I also spent some time in Hung Ga Kung Fu. Due to not having a traditional belt rank system, my rank is equivalent to that of a purple belt. Martial arts was a big key part of keeping me off the streets due to the environment I grew up in. Now I teach Taekwondo as a career. I am currently married and have 3 children and guardianship of 2 nephews. Including my wife 4 of the 5 kids hold belts in Taekwondo. The youngest, being 2 years old, already is starting to show an interest. I joined the Combat Team in 2012. I currently run the Southside OKC program we offer for kids that are growing up in the same kind of neighborhood I did. I am excited to see how God continues to work in myself and the team.
