When I was fourteen years old my mother remarried a man named David Bryan and he agreed to adopt me. When I was adopted my last name changed to his last name. I became legally his child. Meaning that he agreed to take care of all my needs. Food, clothing medical, dental, everything. And, he agreed to love and nurture me as his own child! Even my birth certificate read that David Bryan was my dad and I was his son. It was like David Bryan was there when I was born. I am very thankful that he became my dad because he was a very good father.

I want to tell you of another Father that wants to adopt YOU into his family, and that is the Heavenly Father, God.

Did you know that God loved you so much he sent his only son Jesus to earth to die for your sins and give you eternal life in heaven with him? God the Father even agrees not only to adopt you as one of his sons or daughters, he agrees to take care of all of your needs and love and help you through problems. To lead and guide you, giving you a purpose, destiny and peace in your life.

It is up to you! Did you know I had to make a decision to say yes or no to David Bryan if I wanted him to adopt me? I could have said no and kept my old name, but I'm glad I chose to be adopted! It was one of the best decisions I ever made. Plus I got a really cool name.

The only way you can be adopted by God the Father is by accepting his Son Jesus as your Lord and Savior. It is a free gift that God wants to give to you! You cannot earn it or buy it. See, the Bible says we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But Jesus wants to take away your sins and give you victory here on earth as well as in Heaven. Can you honestly say that if you died right now you would go to Heaven? Do you want to know for sure? You can know for sure!

Confess this prayer out loud and believe it with your heart: Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that your died for me to take away my sins! I now ask you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior and wash me clean of all sins and unrighteousness. Thank you Lord, in Jesus name, amen.
